It's normal to feel angry...life can be hard sometimes and sometimes? we may not always handle the anger we feel in a healthy healing way and we cause even further problems for ourselves. Has your anger ever gotten the best of you? Have you ever acted out as a result of your anger? Yeah more questions I know...but the more you know about what makes you angry, how your body responds and what you can do to calm this emotion...the less your anger will control your life...or even damage your heart. Today I'd like to share some information about how anger can hurt your heart and what you can do about it. Please keep in mind that this information is shared for your personal entertainment only and is NOT meant in any way to take the place of direct medical care from a qualified professional. If you have questions about what you read here...please talk to your doctor. When you are broken open, you have a chance to discover for the first time what is truly inside you. ~~Bryant McGill~~ Picture taken at Port Burwell beach This was shared with me on the Fb page from a friend and a part of me wanted to use it as a sarcastic funny piece, but then another part of me felt a little sad because when I read this I thought...there is a measure truth in this. Some of your best friends are people you have never met. People on-line who support, understand, encourage and empower you through the down days of your pain. They're the members of your "wide awake club", your pain support pages...the ones who always understand...you have them don't you? And on the days when your body is hurting...have you ever looked for the part(s) that don't hurt? I have. I may only find a few places but I can find them. And yes! even my fatigue is tired and it's the kind of tired that sleep can't fix. It's been my bedside, it's been my purse, and it's been an overnight bag...and a few other places too...but I have been a walking pharmacy. Have you? What's your Friday face like? Are you smiling silly? If you're not smiling yet...what are you going to do for you to change that? I'm smiling because the warmer months are here and I've been able to enjoy some time out in my back yard working on some driftwood, I've gone for a few walks, and I'm really loving having my windows open and the furnace turned off. I've been daydreaming of days on the beach and I'm looking forward to BBQ's with friends. What makes you smile? When was the last time you did something for you that made you feel good? that made you smile? that helped you to live beyond your pain? What does this for you? It's easy to get lost in the negatives of a hurting life...BUT! it's up to us to find the things that make us feel good and it's up to us to spend the time doing these things. It's a healthy healing thing and it's something we can do for us...you just have to make the choice to choose you and your needs. So...nosy me wants to know...what will you do for you this weekend to put a smile on your silly lil heart? What will you do to soothe, nurture and care for yourself so you can live beyond your pain? What will you do for you? Happy Friday to you! and I hope your weekend treats you gentle and you do too! find some time for you okay? If you want to be happy, you have to be happy on purpose. When you wake up, you can’t just wait to see what kind of day you’ll have. You have to decide what kind of day you’ll have. ~~Joel Osteen~~ Picture taken by my daughter Emily When I hear the word "breakthrough" in relation to a medication...it gives the impression that the medication is better than what is currently available... that perhaps it even suggests more people are finding success with a particular medication...that there are less side-effects...perhaps maybe even a cure? When you hear the word "breakthrough"... what thoughts go through your mind?
Has your doctor ever raved about a new "breakthrough" drug? Were you then encouraged to try it? Or maybe you saw an advertisement on TV or in a magazine and then approached your doctor? Are you seeking a "breakthrough" to your pain? What are your motivations for trying new medications? Personal questions I know but please do give them some thought. Sometimes? I think it's not only our doctors who may overestimate the promise of medications...but we can too in the hopes of being pain free. Truth is though? we may never be "pain free"...but we can learn to manage, plan for and even care for our pain when we feel it. Now I'm not saying medications aren't helpful...but I do wonder if they're given more power than they should be. Could we possibly be overestimating the promises of medications? Today I'd like to share an article with you and ask that you give thought to the medications you are currently taking. Why did you choose to take a particular medication? Are you receiving the benefits or the risks of your choices...and do the benefits outweigh the risks? Are you more active in your life because of you medication choices? The choice to use medication is personal one and is to be made with careful consideration, with an open line of conversation and the support of your doctor and/or treatment team. When taking medications it's best to be informed...ask your questions, find out what the benefits and risks are, balance the information...and make an informed choice. If you have questions about what you read here please speak to your doctor. This information is shared for your personal entertainment only is not meant to take the place of direct medical care. You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you. ~~Sarah Ban Breathnach~~ Picture taken at the Pinery |
