Now that we're living a pained life...certain things about who we are will change and we will have to leave who we "thought" we were to find who we are now.
It's all part of the journey through your pain and like most other storms...you will not be the same coming out as you were going in. But the most important thing is...is that you come out.
Leaving behind who you thought you were and accepting all that you are now, is a healthy healing goal to work towards. You can't change your illness...you can't change the fact you will hurt...BUT...you can change how your illness and pain controls your thoughts on and acceptance of your life moving forward.
Your journey is yours and who you are now is yours to find too. Sometimes though...you gotta leave who you were to find who you are...if you don't like what you find...what will you do to change that moving forward?
Accept all that you are now...find the things that helps you cope...the things that calm your needs...find the things you can use to help you through...and take good care of you.
