Just thinking about stress makes us stressed! Ever notice that? When you think of what is stressing you out, do you find your heart starts to race? Your vision becomes blurry? I often find my ears start ringing. Stress has a way of making us feel overwhelmed and out of control. When we are feeling heightened symptoms of stress we often find our pain is increased as well.
As with anything that comes with life, there are ways we can learn to manage the impact stress has on our lives. Whether it's taking a time-out to gather our thoughts and calm our racing hearts, or going for a brisk walk to work out excess energies, managing the stress within our lives is within our capabilities.
Take a good long look at your life. Are there things you can do within your life to minimize the stress you feel? Often making our homes a soothing, calming place can alleviate our stress when we come home from the world. Allowing yourself to not know all the answers or to have the ability to make everyone happy, can also release some of your stress.
Managing the impact stress has on our lives also comes with understanding what causes the stress in the first place. Having helpful, calming strategies and a plan for dealing with stress, is also a healthy option. Take the time to consider what you can do within your life to help yourself de-stress from life.
