The perils of a rambling mind....

When you look at the picture...what did you think about? Do the thoughts sound familiar to your own? Has your mind ever rambled like this? I'll admit it...mine has and did again when I read it.

Have you ever been so swamped in thought you couldn't think straight? Do you question everything you've ever done...your success and missteps too? Do you over analyze yourself? Have you ever caused problems in your present because of thoughts of your past?

I think we all have at times.

Do you talk nicely to yourself when doing this or do you beat yourself up for what you see as your life failures? Do you ever got so lost in thoughts that you're brought back to your past? Do you stay there or do you walk yourself back? What do you do? Do you ever talk to yourself in a                                                                                                                    depreciating manner? What words do you use?

How do you talk to you?

I ask a lot of questions I know and I'm doing it to get you thinking about how you're thinking...about the words you use when you're talking to yourself. I do this because our words have power. Our words have the power to lift us up and they have the power to destroy us. Our words can either help us through or they can keep us down...so I ask again...how do you talk to you?

Our thoughts can turn us inside outside and backward some days...ever notice that? And not everything we think about is useful, positive, nor productive to where we're going. We are not who we were, but sometimes....our thoughts don't remember that.

Sometimes I don't think we trust ourselves enough, and I think too we don't give ourselves enough credit. We can generalize one bad situation and we can think ourselves into thinking it will always happen that way...that when we make a mistake that there is something inherently wrong with us. And you know what? there is! and what's wrong with us is that we don't love ourselves enough and we beat ourselves up for being human.

When your mind starts rambling please remember...You are NOT your mistakes in life...you are NOT the missteps you may have taken...but You ARE human though and that means it will happen...you are bound to make mistakes and you're most likely going to do things you later wish you hadn't. Or maybe..those things happened to you at no fault of your own. BUT and it's a big one...YOU are NOT those things...but you are what you do about them.

When your mind goes on a ramble what do you do?
  • do you remind yourself of your successes?
  • do you remind yourself of all the things you like about yourself?
  • do you remember the times you achieved a goal or went after a dream?
  • do you talk with love and encouragement or even forgiveness to yourself?
  • do you calm yourself with your breathing?
  • do you focus on the good in your life?

What do you do and how do you talk?

Some more questions I know but again...it's meant to get you thinking. How do you talk to you when your mind rambles? Give it some thought okay and the next time you go to beat yourself up...try something different okay? Try to love yourself instead...forgive yourself too...and talk nicer to you. Let your thoughts help you through instead of beating you up.

It's your choice but I hope you choose you...take good care of you please?
