Chronic Pain & Life

Welcome to Chronic Pain & Life
What you will find here is a patient's perspective on living with chronic pain. This site was created to share ideas, steps and strategies to living with chronic pain. Life can be difficult when you're stuck with a body that doesn't want to co-operate and is always hurting. With support, education and understanding, we can learn to minimize the impact chronic pain has on our lives. I hope that by joining the conversation, you are empowered to take control in your life too. Within the following the entries, I will offer suggestions that I hope will challenge your thought processes in ways you may not be totally comfortable with. I hope too that you will feel empowered to take on your pain and learn how you can control it. Now I'm not offering a cure to chronic pain, unfortunately, there is no cure. But I do believe that there is a life beyond it. The experiences we will have throughout our journey will be different. You may even find that while reading the following entries, they don't exactly reflect what is going on within your life. That's okay. I didn't expect that it would. Pain affects us all differently but what I hope to show you is that no matter what barriers you may be facing because of pain, you can surpass them. I offer these pages not as an expert in chronic pain, but as someone who lives with it too and has learned how to ride it. Although I have had the pages taken from "Living with Chronic Pain - A Patient's Perspective", reviewed by three specialists in their perspective fields, but what I offer you is my opinion only. I do not mean for this blog to take the place of direct medical care from qualified physicians. I offer it only as a working tool to understanding and gaining control over the impact chronic pain has had within your life. But if you wish not to go any further, that's okay too. It's not your time yet and maybe you haven't hit bottom. I hope you never do. But on the off chance that you do decide later to take this information and use it to begin a different ride of sorts, I wish you the best in your journey. You are worth fighting for. Just don't let it get so bad before you realize this. And please... be gentle and kind with yourself. You need it. Oh ..... I should also include this...... Warning: this blog may contain emotional and occasional foul language and then there's my sense of humour.... please read with consideration and caution. Take good care of you okay? Tammy |
