When we breathe...we don't even think about it...our brains do that work for us..it's an automatic response for us. However...when we take the time to be mindful of our breathing...we can bring change to our bodies...we can increase our energies, elevate our moods and we can even lower our stress levels. It's true! have you tried it yet? Will you try it now?

The most dangerous war....

The most dangerous war is the one within ourselves. The war against our thoughts and our emotions..it can be battle some days.

Would you agree with that? Have your thoughts ever waged a war against you? Have you ever waged war against your thoughts? Have you ever battled yourself?

I have and I have the scars to prove it. They've healed now and I've learned how to do things differently, but they do remain as a reminder of where I've been. I feel stronger when I look at them now and I'm not ashamed anymore. I've battled myself and I've won.

We may live a life that hurts now but that does not mean that the fun and play in our lives needs to hurt too.

Yes...we need to be responsible with what we do and how we live..but you know what? we can't stop having fun.

There are and have been times when I've been saved by doing what makes me feel good...the things that allow me to enjoy being me. It allows me to live beyond my pain and to live for me instead.

What do you have in your life now that is fun for you? What makes you smile and feel good to be you? What helps you to live beyond your pain?

There will be times when only fun can save you. I hope you'll let it.

Your body is made of the same elements that lionesses are built from. Three quarters of you is made of the same water that beats rocks to rubble and wears stone away. Your DNA translates to the same 20 amino acids that wolf genes code for. On days when you look in the mirror and feel weak, remember the air you breathe in fuels forest fires that can destroy everything they touch. And you? well..you are capable of so much more.

Before we get to the medication I need to remind you...
  • that what I am providing is NOT meant in any way to replace the conversation between you, your doctor, or your pharmacist
  • please do not self-diagnose or make medical decisions about this drug without talking with qualified professionals
  • the information provided here is the reference sheet you would find at WebMD. During my journey I found this site to be helpful in providing support. All credit for this information belongs to them. I copied it right from their website and I have removed the hyper-links. Please visit their site if you would like to read further.

For this installment, I have chosen Prozac
GENERIC NAME(S): Fluoxetine

Uses: Fluoxetine is used to treat depression, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder, a certain eating disorder (bulimia), and a severe form of premenstrual syndrome(premenstrual dysphoric disorder).

This medication may improve your mood, sleep, appetite, and energy level and may help restore your interest in daily living. It may decrease fear, anxiety, unwanted thoughts, and the number of panic attacks. It may also reduce the urge to perform repeated tasks (compulsions such as hand-washing, counting, and checking) that interfere with daily living. Fluoxetine may lessen premenstrual symptoms such as irritability, increased appetite, and depression. It may decrease binging and purging behaviors in bulimia.

**Please read this information carefully**
If you have any questions about what is provided here....talk with your doctor or pharmacist please.

Sometimes, it's okay to give up on something. As long as you don't give up on yourself.
