The last year has gone by so fast hasn't it? It's has been a year filled with ups and downs...laughter and tears...triumphs and falls too...but it's been an incredible year.

Memories that will last a life time have been made. Goals have been reached...dreams have been chased...and dare I say...even caught.

I hope when you look back over the past year that you're smiling. Yes you may be remembering some of the hurtful moments too...but you're still here...still surviving...growing...learning...and                                                                         living.

Tonight we will bring in a brand new year...a fresh start...new opportunities and chances too. Whatever happened this year that caused you pain...leave it behind you as you begin a new year. Whatever happened...it's now a part of your past...leave it there...don't bring it with you into the new year.

What are you doing?

So...curious me wants to know...what are you doing tonight to ring in the new year?

I'm heading out with good friends to see a band tonight and I've got some work to do today to get myself ready'n'able to go and even some coping skills to pack and bring with me.

What can and will you do to help you prepare for your activities tonight?

Don't let your pain stop you from celebrating...prepare for it...manage it...and go do something that will make you smile and even give you a memory to hold on to.

Celebrate and say good-bye to 2014 and welcome 2015 with a smile and a resounding "I'm Ready"

Have a great time tonight and I hope you celebrate with those who make you smile.

As we prepare to welcome in a new year...I hope you will leave your yesterdays behind you and allow yourself the beauty and love of a fresh start...a whole new beginning...a whole new YOU.

LIVE and CHASE your dreams.
FACE your fears and RISE above them.
LOVE yourself and let yourself GROW.
REBUILD a life of YOUR design.

I wish you only the best for the coming new year. It will be what YOU make it.

Basil...it's not just for your spaghetti sauce anymore ;)

Did you know this about basil? I didn't. I just liked the way my food tasted when it was used.

Shall we dance?

The following is something that was sent to me from a friend of the website. I'd like to share it with you now as well. I found this piece to be very moving and honestly I cried...maybe I'm just feeling "emotional" today but this moved me. There is a back story behind this piece and I'm not sure if I can share that with you but one thing I hope for you....I hope you dance.

Shall we dance?

Christine Shaw

Life is a dance!

Neil Diamond sings: I’ve been up, I’ve been down; I’ve been so turned around; I’ve been high, I’ve been low; and then he sings: turn down the lights, turn up the music.

The music. It’s the rhythm to our dance in life. It dictates the beat, forces us to keep moving. We use our senses to pick up the beat – we see, we hear, we feel.

But then:

The Phantom, in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s phantom of the opera sings: Feeling is believing, music is deceiving, dare you trust the music of the night?

I am better today....

"I am better today. Still struggling to find my feet back into the corporate world and taking one day at a time, I have discovered and re-discovered myself, sometimes walked right into myself, and I have learnt to appreciate every new day and grab every opportunity. I cycle and one of the things I have learnt from cycling is to lose extra baggage and to keep pedalling. If you stop pedalling you fall over ;-) and extra weight is only an advantage on the downhill. We all have extra unnecessary baggage/ stuff/ issues that just weighs us down and we need to let go."

The above comes from an email I received from a friend of the website. I wanted to share it here because I think what she has to say is important. You will discover and rediscover yourself many times throughout your life. And you'll even walk right into yourself too. Learn what baggage you need in life going forward and get rid of the baggage you don't need...it'll only weigh you down.

take good care of you

10 practical ways to look after your mental health....

Your mental health is important. VERY! But...our society hasn't caught up with that fact yet. Yeah there's lots of talk about breaking down barriers and getting rid of stigmas, but let's face...we're still behind in this.

Because our society hasn't caught up as whole, there is still a lot that is misunderstood about mental health. Some people still think it's something "to get over" or to "snap out of". It's not...and until this changes there will still be great misunderstanding.

We can't wait for society to catch up though can we? No we can't. So until it does...learn how to care for and look after, your mental health. You can do this and you need you to do this.

How do you care for your mental health or do you?
