When I first read this so many thoughts and emotions...? A life with pills? A life without them? And it left me wondering...are we doomed to live a life filled with robotic ways in the fog of our pain...trying to keep our heads above water

Then fight I will!

Raging Rhetoric and writer S.L. THANK YOU!!

Being open minded is critical for your growth....

Every once in awhile I come across something that makes me think...and this one made me think. Part of our healing journey I think, is learning who and what we are and how we became to be. Life has changed for us and how we were living did too. And sometimes we're not so open minded about the new life we now have. I hope by reading this it challenges your thoughts too.

take good care of you

Being open-minded is critical for your growth. If you cannot be open-minded, then you do not possess your ideas, your ideas possess you. Opening yourself to the possibility that you are wrong may make you feel vulnerable, but it is actually empowering, because this is how we learn. When you are not willing to be challenged, disturbed or offended, you are not willing to explore your weaknesses or ever claim the potential of greater strengths. Challenge yourself. Be defiant; defy yourself. Challenge authority; the authority of your own rational convictions! Think back to how many times you absolutely knew you were right about something or someone, only to find out later in life you had been absolutely wrong. This is a common pattern that repeats itself, and in the moment, it is nearly impossible to detect that it is happening. This is the problem with being short-sighted; it is hard to see. We all do this constantly! This is why it is so important to make a conscious and continual effort to be open-minded. Next time you are positively and absolutely sure, attempt the practice of releasing surety and opening yourself to the possibility that you are wrong, or that you do not understand the full picture. Open yourself to the possibility that you and your opponent are both right according to your own experiences and worldviews. Take a hard stance for broadness and understanding

The water baby needs a little help today....

The water baby inside me needs a little help today. Thoughts of the beach or being at the pond have been my visualization for relaxation for many years now.

Picture
Being near water is instantly soothing for me. The sounds, the smells, the feeling of the sun warming my body...make me feel good. And when I really need it...I can just close my eyes and I'm there again.

Where do you go to calm your body and your mind? How do you feel while you're there? How often do you do this for yourself?
Picture
Yeah...the water baby needs a smile today and this does help.

Medicine Problems

6/29/2015

There are many problems that come with some of the medications commonly prescribed for people like us, and the most talked about problem I think...is the side-effects we experience. Have you ever talked to someone about how the medications you take make you feel? Are side-effects the only problem you've experienced? Probably not.

As a part of the Medication Monday...I'd like to share some other known medication problems. Take a look at the list and give some thought to the experiences you've had with your meds...do any of them look familiar?

Please keep in mind this information is shared for your personal and entertainment use only and is not meant to take the place of direct medical care from a qualified medical professional. If you have any questions about what you read here please speak to your doctor and/or treatment team.

Side effects
A side effect is any effect other than the one you want. They tend to be mild, but they can still bother you. In some cases, side effects can be serious.

Before we get to the medication I need to remind you...
  • that what I am providing is NOT meant in any way to replace the conversation between you, your doctor, or your pharmacist
  • please do not self-diagnose or make medical decisions about this drug without talking with qualified professionals
  • the information provided here is the reference sheet you would find at WebMD. During my journey I found this site to be helpful in providing support. All credit for this information belongs to them. I copied it right from their website and I have removed the hyper-links. Please visit their site if you would like to read further.

For this installment, I have chosen Clonidine
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Catapres

Uses: This medication is used alone or with other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Clonidine belongs to a class of drugs (central alpha agonists) that act in the brain to lower blood pressure. It works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily.

This drug may also be used for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), for hot flashes that occur with menopause, for withdrawal symptoms from narcotic drugs, and to help people quit smoking.

**Please read this information carefully**
If you have any questions about what is provided here....talk with your doctor or pharmacist please.

Today we believe God wants you to know that you need to forgive yourself.

How long must you carry the burdens of your mistakes? You are not meant live every moment with regret. Learn from your past, and carry on with your head held high.

Well...the Facebook page has now reached the 4000 friend milestone...THANK YOU! for making that happen.

Things have grown and changed here over the last year and a half and I've enjoyed it immensely! It's been fun seeing this dream become a reality bigger than I thought it would be.

I hope that by sharing the Facebook page and the website with me, you are beginning to take a different journey with your pain.

My goal for the website and FB page is to empower, support and encourage you to live life beyond your pain. To share strategies and information too. I also hope we can share a laugh as well. It's a journey through life...thank you for sharing it with me.

Please keep in mind that what you read here is my opinion only and is not meant to take the place of direct medical care from a qualified professional. I'm not a doctor...but I am just like you... human...hurting...and doing the best I can each and every day.

I also ask that you keep in mind that I am the only one here. I do not have an editor nor someone writing for me...there will be mistakes. This site is me...my thoughts...my life with pain...it's me...and I share it with you because I truly believe we are more than our pain...more than our illness...more than our past...WE ARE MORE!

Thank you for being here! I greatly appreciate all your support...take good care of you and each other...
Please.
