When I first saw this I couldn't help but say...

oh yeah! (actually it was a swear word first but I digress)...and I could actually feel my body start to go through some of these feelings. My heart started racing and my body got all tingly and the pit in my stomach dropped...instant nausea.

I can't say what exact thought came to my mind to cause the response as none did...it was the memory... the memory of all the times I've felt like this and to the things that trigger these feelings for me.

Have you ever felt like this? Does the meme look familiar to you? If you're saying yes...do you always know what triggers these feelings for you? When you're triggered...how do you handle it?

If you live with Anxiety or PTSD these feelings are probably all too familiar for you.  They are for me too...but how do you handle them? Give                                                                                                         this some thought okay?

Acknowledging these feelings and working through them is a healthy healing goal to work towards. I actually have a name for these feelings when I feel them...and I call my feelings the "wooglies and the vooglies"...silly word I know but when I say it to my daughter she instantly knows what it means and if we're in a crowded place we just leave. Putting a word to our feelings helps us to communicate it quickly to those around us and it helps us to start supporting ourselves through this.

Communication is a key to coping with this too. Being able to share how we feel...when we feel it...and what we need as we're in the midst of these feelings is important. BUT...we also need to do the work when we're feeling them. Share what triggers these feelings with your support system and be honest about what you need from them when you're feeling like this. Take the time to soothe yourself and calm your emotions. These feelings will pass but you need to be gentle with yourself too.

When you've been triggered how do you talk to yourself? What about those around you? How do you talk to them? Give this some thought too okay? Are your words helpful or hurtful to yourself or to others? How we talk to ourselves and others carries power...be gentle with yourself during this time. Your words need to be soothing not hurting.

We can't always avoid the things that make us feel this way...but...we can learn how to manage it better when we do feel them. Give thought to what triggers this feeling for you...how you handle it now...and what you can do in the future to handle this better for you. Give thought too to the words you use when talking to yourself when you're feeling these feelings....are you words helping or hurting?

take good care of you okay?

meme found on-line and I'm sorry but I didn't write down from where...
