Do you or someone you know and love live with the depression? Do you know the signs of depression? Do any of these look familiar to you? They're painfully familiar to me and I'm thinking they might be for you too. When you're feeling your depression ...what does it feel like? what helps you to cope? what do you do for you when feeling this way? The signs are as real as the depression is too. Do you recognize any of them? Have you spoken to your doctor? Have you told those around you how you're feeling? How are you managing? You are the longest commitment you'll ever make. You have to make YOU a priority. ~~Unknown~~ Picture taken on the pond.
The past two days the website has been quite....I took a break. The day after my birthday my daughter and I took off to the pond to get some nature time. Walking the pond with her and taking pictures was soothing to my soul. It was painful for my body but it was worth it to go with her. We got some incredible pictures and made new memories.
Yesterday was some errands with Dad and after a terrible nights sleep (from all the walking of course and my rambling mind that kept me up too), I needed a nap when I came home. Slept a solid four hours (guess I needed it). I had a relaxing night for the most part and even managed to get some laundry and dishes done too. I'm sharing this with you for a reason...sometimes we just need a break...sometimes we just need to do the things we need for us to feel good. Did I mention I had a bubble bath and some chocolate too? Well I did. I did the things I needed for me. And you know what? it's okay. It's okay to take a break. It's okay to indulge your needs...it's okay. I went to bed feeling in a funk and woke up feeling like I'm in a funk still. I'm not sure if it's the pain from the pond and the walking...or the pain in my mind...my thoughts have been a little unkind lately and I'm entertaining them far longer than I should be. My birthday was hard for me this year and I've not handled it well. Sometimes you need to take a break from everyone and spend time alone, to experience, appreciate, and love yourself. ~~Robert Tew~~ Picture of me taken by Emily at the Pinery. Today we believe God wants you to know that the sounds of Nature can lift your spirits. Take time to revel in the joyful songs of the birds, the splash of a bubbling brook, the whisper of the wind through the trees, and the roar of the ocean's waves. These sounds can deeply nourish your soul. Picture taken at the Pinery From me and mine to you and yours... Happy Thanksgiving. As you gather this weekend I hope you take the time to thank those in your life for all they do and for all they mean to you...and let them know how important they are to you. Sometimes we forget to do that. I hope your belly is full and you hurt from laughing. I hope you make some new memories and cherish some old ones too. Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for many things in my life and one of them is the support and encouragement you all give me by being here. Thank you for that! What are you thankful for in your life today? Celebrate that okay? and take good care of you Tammy |
