Oh...yeah...humour warning ;)
It truly is an amazing thing. When you get honest with yourself and start doing what YOU love and what makes YOU happy...things start changing. Learning to live "in the moment" is an abstract thought for some. They're too busy rushing around going to jobs they hate, trying to fill some "ideal" of what life is "supposed" to be and they're miserable. Ever notice that? I have. They're the ones rushing around wishing they had more time saying life is passing them by...they never get the chance to slow down and just enjoy it. Spending time doing things we "have" to do is a part of life...but it's only a part. I think if people were to spend as much time doing what they enjoy as they spend doing what they have to do...more people would claim satisfaction within their lives. Do you live in the "moments" of your life? What are the "moments" of your life? What brings you feelings of contentment and joy? Do you find when you're feeling these feelings and are living in your moments...a sense of calm and steadiness is there. It's a feeling that I struggle sometimes to put into words, but it's a feeling you feel in your whole body. It's peace..it's comfort and it's one of life's best feelings. And we are capable of having it...of feeling it...and living it. A whole new perspective can be born when you choose to live in the moments of your life instead of rushing between them. Live for you and live well. Tammy Today, we believe God wants you to know that your life is full of possibilities. Don't be discouraged by what seems like dead ends. Every moment in your life carries infinite possibilities just waiting to be discovered. Like a vine finding its way even through the slightest openings in rock solid walls, so will you. on the pond I spent yesterday afternoon at the mall YIKES! and today I'm running errands with Mom finishing up the last minute things needed for our family Christmas...I'm hoping one of the stops is at the liquor store because I think may need it...YEP!!...it's official...I'm a glutton for punishment. :)
I hope you have a great day doing what you need to do too. And I hope that when you're done...you take the time to soothe yourself too. There are days when we can't avoid doing what we have to do but we can make sure we take the time to focus on our needs after soothing ourselves...and for me that will include chocolate. Happy Saturday and I hope you have a great day! Tammy How many hugs have you given out today?
Did you know that hugs: Can instantly boost oxytocin levels, which heal feelings of loneliness, isolation, and anger. Lift one's serotonin levels, elevating mood and creating happiness. Strengthen the immune system. The gentle pressure on the sternum stimulates the thymus gland, which regulates and balances the body's production of white blood cells, which keep you healthy and disease free. Relaxes muscles. Hugs release tension in the body. Hugs can take away pain; they soothe aches by increasing circulation into the soft tissues. Balance out the nervous system. The galvanic skin response of someone receiving and giving a hug shows a change in skin conductance. The effect in moisture and electricity in the skin suggests a more balanced state in the nervous system - parasympathetic. Go on now....hug someone will ya the above was found on line and is not mine How long have you been focusing on all the ways your life changed because of your pain? Do you say to yourself "I wish I was the old me again" or what about "my life has changed so much now". Do you wish you could go back in time and change things? Maybe you have said something different to yourself wishing, hoping and praying things were the same...that things hadn't changed....have you? be honest now okay? What do you say to yourself? I'm sure you've hear this many times...I know I have. There are true and proven benefits to drinking water. That being said however...not everyone likes drinking water. If you're not a big fan...there are things you can add to your water to make it a little more enjoyable. Here are just a few...
Do you drink enough water in your day for your body to benefit? Picture taken from Nutrition Plus Community Health Market here we go again...IT'S FRIDAY!! what will you do this weekend to help you live beyond your pain? what will you do to soothe yourself? mentally, emotionally and physically? what makes you smile and feel good about being you? I ask these questions every Friday and I ask to get you thinking about what you need in your life to feel good about being you. I ask to get you thinking about what you need to soothe yourself after a long week. I ask because we need to do this to help ourselves heal. Our pain may be a part of who we are now and it's a part of our lives we can't avoid...BUT...we can learn to live with it and we can learn to manage it too. Focus on your needs and take good care of yourself. You don't have to wait till the weekend to do this either. Take care of your needs as you need them. DON'T WAIT! Happy Friday and I hope you have a great day....find some time for you okay? Tammy |
