The past few days....

The past few days have gone by in a hurting blur...but I'm smiling for it all. From a day spent at the beach on Friday, to touring a car show and the Zurich Bean Festival on Saturday, to time spent with friends laughing...it was a great weekend.

These are just a few of the pictures I took Friday.

To spend the day here was a soothing thing indeed. Watching the sun set over the water was the perfect ending to a great day.

I collected more driftwood and found some other pieces I really wanted to take home but they were just too big. (I'd need a saw, a chain and a boat to get them home...trust me I was tempted to try)

The sights, the sounds, the smells and even the way the sand feels between the toes...was a needed dose of therapy for me.

It saddens me to know that summer is almost over but the memories I've made this year will carry me through the cold dark days of winter and if I ever need some help...these pictures will remind me of the days I lived beyond my pain, doing the things that make me smile and feel good.

This is wonderful! Going outdoors in different places, even for a short while, and even if pain doesn't allow to move much (I have had long-term shin splints so I can't walk much at a time), there can be these small moments and experiences that makes the focus turn into something positive, or just away from the pain. Just the feeling of doing something out there, living the life despite the pain and troubles, it is valuable especially around those times you mention, the times when you can't get there. For me it inspires creativity, like taking photographs or getting an idea to build something or write something, and I am happy that you have found similar things. :) Your pictures are stunning! I hope you get out there soon.

Glad you had a good time! :) Next time, take a saw, a chain and a boat. ;) xox

Sometimes its worth pushing ourselves for the good times and the memories even though we pay for it aftewards. Your photos are incredible. Sorry you guys are heading for winter. Here in Southern Africa we are emerging into spring then summ and rain - its own special kind of pain but time to create special memories with friends. So snuggle down and i hope your winter brings you some beautiful memories too. If you get snow try to enjoy it and think of us... ive only ever been in it twice in my life and it is special. Although my husban who come from uk assures me its only special if youve seen it twice. Living with it another story!! Stay wonderful
