NO! don't you dare! Not everything we think is the true and real way things are. Sometimes...our thoughts are clouded by our emotions...our pain...and even our pasts too... and they aren't always so reliable. Don't believe everything you think okay? Challenge your thoughts! especially the negative ones. You are more than you think...stronger than you know and better than you believe. Don't believe EVERYTHING you think okay? Picture found on-line source unknown edit done by me Today we believe God wants you to know that you can find a moment of rest. Life is full of busyness: work, family, friends, housework, the list goes on and on. Take a few minutes right now to let yourself just rest. Quiet your mind and let the silence relax your body. Picture taken in Collingwood, ON Depending where you live...the warmer months are here and that means so are summer plans. Have you made any yet? The warmer months often bring more opportunities for gatherings, social functions, and family trips...but when living a pained and hurting life...that can mean more pain for us...or cancelled plans because we're hurting too much to go.
Have you ever cancelled plans because of your pain? Have you ever been worried about making plans because you don't know how you'll be feeling? To cancel plans or be worried to make them...is a normal part of a hurting life...but I do think there are things we can do to help ourselves be as "socially able" as we can be. So...when you want to be social and your pain is high...what can you do? what do you do? What helps you cope? If you have plans in the evening...what do you do for you during the day to prepare? If your activities bring you more pain...how do you manage that? How do you talk to yourself before, during and after? Give the questions some thought and then take a look at the examples...is there anything you can add to help you manage your social calendar? When we deny the story, it defines us. When we own the story, we can write a brave new ending. ~~Brene Brown~~ Picture taken in Port Stanley, ON Hello and happy Friday to you! How was your week? What did you do this week to help you through...to help you cope with your pain...emotionally, mentally, and physically....what did you do? Did you make the time for you and your needs? We all have the same amount of hours in our days and we all have expectations and responsibilities too...but...we also have the same expectations and responsibilities to ourselves and to our own needs. Did you make the time for yours? If you haven't taken the time yet this week to focus on your needs...I challenge you today to make and take some time today or even this weekend, to do what you need for you. What soothes your pain...emotionally? mentally? physically? What soothes you? What calms your mind? What relaxes your body? What makes you smile and feel good? What makes you laugh and enjoy your life? What can you do for you? A lot of questions I know but please do give them some thought and I hope you will accept my challenge. We can't avoid our pain...it's a part of our lives now...but...we can take the time to do what we need for us when we're feeling it. take good care of you and your needs...it's a healthy healing goal and it's one you can give yourself...I hope you will.
