A note from me about the causes of pain....

Over the last two weeks or so I've been sharing information about the various medical conditions that can leave us feeling pain. When I first started this website, I said I was not going to do this because there are just too many conditions that result in pain. I thought if I started...I wouldn't be able to stop...and I didn't want to leave anyone out and I'm sorry if I did.

There are in fact way too many illnesses that can leave us feeling pain. For every one I have shared with you there are at least 3 more that I didn't. I do encourage you to take a look at what has been shared and to read further...talk to your doctor and your pharmacist too! If I didn't share your diagnosis...I do apologize but I hope you will take the necessary steps to get yourself informed about your illness and what you can do for you and your life moving forward.

There are options! and there are many forms of treatment that have been proven beneficial. Explore them! get to know what works for you and what doesn't. It's best to have choices in your treatment goals and I hope you will keep trying to find what works best for you. Your coping skills will either see you underneath your pain or living your life beyond it. Explore what works for you okay? And don't forget to use your skills when you need them.
I shared the various illnesses with you as a way of opening the lines of communication with those in your life. Have you ever been asked about your illness but not sure how to explain it so someone can understand? Share the information here instead and when your loved one is done reading, sit down with them and have an open discussion about what you're living with and what you need as help. We can't break down the stigma surrounding "invisible illnesses" until we start talking openly and honestly with those around us.

Please do not use the information that has been shared as a way to self-diagnose what you're living with. You're not a doctor and neither am I. Please seek direct medical care with a qualified professional if you recognize yourself and your pain in any of the entries. Please do not use the information to change and/or stop your medications either okay? Your medications have been prescribed for a reason and you need to speak to your doctor and/or pharmacist before making any changes. If you have any questions about what you have read here, please speak to a qualified medical professional (I'm not a doctor, I'm just like you).

There are many natural remedies and therapies that are beneficial for many of our illnesses and I hope you feel empowered to learn more about the options available to you and that you'll explore them. You have choices.

Pain may be a part of our lives now but we still have a life to live and we can do that!...and we can do it by being actively involved in our health care and our healing. Educate yourself on your illness...explore your options...and make a plan for managing it moving forward.

Live you life for you and not your pain...take good care of you eh?

oh yeah...the entries can be found in the Health & Wellness category for your future reference
