"I'm tired" just doesn't cut it.....

When you say "I'm tired"...what do you mean? Are you referring to your body's need for sleep? Are you referring to feeling dragged under by life or maybe you're exhausted and burnt out? What do you mean when you say..."I'm tired".

I don't know about you...but now that my life is a pained one...the words "I'm tired" have taken on a whole new meaning. In my world..."I'm tired" isn't always about my body's need for rest.

When I say "I'm tired"...I'm also saying I need a break...my thoughts hurt...I need help...please let me know it's okay...two little words and their meaning changes when pain is involved. Is this true for you?

Sometimes the "I'm tired" is said when we don't really know how to put our feelings into words and it can be used at times too when we know that no matter what we say...the person just won't understand...so we simply say..."I'm tired".

When you're saying "I'm tired"...what are you really wanting to communicate? What does "I'm tired" mean for you and your life? What do you do for you when you're feeling this way? Do you know why you feel this way? Give the questions some thought and if you're feeling "tired" now...take the time to soothe and focus on your needs.

take good care of you okay?

Today we believe God wants you to know that you are only as free as you imagine yourself to be.

There is nothing "out there" that's holding you down, you are limiting yourself only with your imagination. And your greatest limits are not even the "cannot" and the "should not", but the places where your imagination hasn't yet gone at all. There has never been a better time for you to open your eyes, let the imagination soar and see what more is possible.

It's a ME Day

I'm taking a ME Day today. As part of my coping skills I take the odd ME Day to do what I need to do for me. It's a day spent focusing on what makes me feel and doing the little things I enjoy. By taking the time to focus on my needs I can sometimes prevent a flare day...and when I've had a busy few days...I know I need a day off...a day just for me.

Do you ever take a ME Day? I get that you may not be able to take a whole day for you so I ask instead...do you ever take a ME Hour? A ME Morning/Afternoon? how about the ME Minutes? If you can't take a ME Day....you can still make time in your day that is just for you...for your needs. YOU CAN MAKE THE TIME! It doesn't make you lazy or selfish...it helps you to heal...it helps to calm your thoughts...and it helps to soothe the pain...it just helps.

What helps to soothe your pain...emotionally...mentally and physically....what helps you? When was the last time you spent your energies on doing the things that you need for you? What do you need? Do you know? Sometimes I think life can get us so frazzled we don't know what we need we just know we needing a break.

Give thought to what you need right now and give thought to what you can do to answer your needs. Next...go do one of those things and enjoy your day.

Take good care of you

It's okay to not be perfect. It's okay to make mistakes. It's okay to do something you wish you hadn't done, because if we don't do those things...we'll never grow.

Hello and Happy Friday to you! How has your week been? Did you need your coping skills to get your through? What did you use? What soothes your emotional, mental and physical needs?

When living a hurting life...our coping skills can help us through the flares and all the other things a hurting life can bring...they help us cope.

Each Friday I drop a bunch of questions like...Do you have plans for the weekend? What will you do for you this weekend to live beyond your pain? What makes you feel good? What puts a smile on your silly lil heart? And a  few more too...and I do this to get you thinking about how you're living with your pain...to challenge you to think of ways you can live beyond it...and how to soothe yourself when you do.

I hope you take the time this weekend to do at least one thing that makes you feel good to be you...it's a healing thing and your needs are important. And don't forget...when you take the time to soothe and care for your needs...you're not being lazy nor are you selfish...your needs are just as important as those you love and care for you and they need to be met.

Take good care of you and please...go do something that makes you feel good. It's a healing thing  and you need this.

When we believe we are losing control, we grab on tight. When our greatest fear comes upon us, we clench our fist and teeth, close our eyes and hold on. We must learn how to let go. When the time comes for growth and change, we must have the courage and faith to let go. Whatever leaves my life makes room for something better.

Physical Activity as You Get Older - Topic Overview

5/28/2015

Would you consider yourself an "older adult"? I do and I say that because I am older than I used to be and I'm only getting older. As we age, our physical activity is just as important as when we were younger...it's just not as easy some days is it? Nope!

Getting older does come with some challenges to our physical activity and if you weren't very active before you got older...you may be finding it even harder now as you age. Decreased activity leads to decreased muscle mass, decreased strength and limits our body's movement. It's a nasty circle to be caught in...BUT...there are things you can do improve and increase your physical activity.

Getting physical has been shown to improve depression and lessen stress as well. Getting active improves cardiac health and can even decrease and/or eliminate the need for some medications (I am able to avoid insulin for my diabetes if I keep my walking and diet).

So...are you as active in your life as you'd like to be? Even with pain and I know you're feeling it...you can still be active in your life. YOU CAN! Take a look at the following article and see what steps you can take to become more active in your life. Make a plan and start getting into your life.
