In the life boat that you sank
I toiled and scooped and bailed her out
As walking away I heard you shout!
Good luck child, I'll leave you now
With crippled senses and little know how
Try your best to make it through
After all I've done to you
The blackest ocean, the deepest sea
Is how I would describe my life to be
Corpses treading all around
Before me all the ones who've drowned
Stranded by someone like you
Left them also not having a clue
Floating through all their lives so rank
In life boats someone like you sank
Can no one see us toil
And watch our worlds around us boil?
Once in a while someone throws me a rope
And tries to pull me up some slippery slope
But it's futile, there's not they can do
So I'll just drift here totally consumed
The blackest ocean or deepest sea
I guess it's where I'm meant to be

This poem was written by a friend and when I read it, it reminded me of my pain. The slippery slope I once was on, the feeling of my senses and body being crippled as I toiled about. It's a powerful poem if you read it well. Listen to it's story and the thoughts it provokes. Does it remind you of anything? Pain can make us feel like we're totally consumed and our lives black. It's up to us to put the light back in our lives. Will you continue to tread water or will you climb that slippery slope?
