That's the thing about feelings isn't it? We all have them and we can't avoid them...but sometimes...we don't know where they came from or how to deal with them.
Where do you put your feelings when you feel this way? Do you keep them tucked away deep inside you? Do you express them in a healthy manner? How do you manage your feelings when you feel them? Give this some thought please.
Sometimes...our choices are healthy and sometimes...they're not.
Have you ever noticed moments in your life when you're feeling your feelings so intensely it's hard to put a name to them? These moments can be both good and bad...have you noticed this too? Have you ever felt so happy you could burst? So exhilarated your body hums? Or so sad that the tears keep flowing? Our feelings can be overwhelming and hard to deal with at times but they can also be the most beautiful things we will experience in our lives.
It's easy to get caught up in the negative ones and to get lost in them. Is this true for you? What do you do when your feelings are negative? Do you beat yourself up further? Do you make a conscious effort to change your thoughts? Do you make a conscious effort to understand why you're feeling what you're feeling? How do you change your thoughts so you can change your feelings?
We may not always be able to control our feelings but we can learn how to understand them so they have less impact in and on our lives, and we can learn positive and calming ways to manage our feelings when they become overwhelming.
Ask yourself some questions...what am I feeling? why am I feeling this way? are these feelings helpful to my healing or holding me back? are my thoughts helping my feelings or causing more pain?
Our thoughts impact our feelings, and our feelings impact our thoughts. Learning how to understand and manage them is something we can do for us and it's important that we do...or we will find ourselves under them wondering where to put them.
We can't tuck our feelings away in neat little packages closing them off because they'll spring open when we least expect it. We can learn why we feel what we feel and we can learn to soothe ourselves when we need to. Our thoughts are ours to control and our feelings are ours too.
take good care of you and your thoughts and feelings too...
