It's Sunday....what are you doing?

So how has your weekend been? Did you find the time just for you? You know...the time just for you to focus on your needs? Did you find it?

I hope so!

One of the most healing things we can do for ourselves is to focus on and care for our needs...emotionally, mentally, and physically...we have needs and we need to care for them.

So I'll ask again...did you find the time for you and your needs? If you're saying no...find it...even if it's only a few minutes...find it for you.

In fact, if I can be so bold as to suggest...might I even say dare...do at least one thing each and every day that makes you feel good about being you. Don't wait for the weekend...do one thing each day that makes you smile...something that allows you to live beyond your pain even if for only a little while...do something that is just for you.

The thing is too that this doesn't have to be big grand things either...it can be even the most simplest of things as enjoying your favourite hot drink while gazing out the window lost in thought of nothing in particular...but you just stop for a bit. It can be wearing your favourite comfy clothes or even something that makes you feel beautiful and confident. It can be something as simple as listening to a song that inspires you or one that makes you want to dance...and if it does? well then...dance silly and let your body feel the music.

It can be easy to get lost in the big things in life and we can feel run over and trampled sometimes to say the least. We often can't change the big things that happen in life...but we can learn to slow down and to appreciate the little things...the moments in between...the things in our lives that truly make us happy and feel good.

What does that for you? Give it some thought would you please? Get a pen and paper and write them down and when you're done, put that piece of paper somewhere you can see it and when you need to be reminded of the good parts of your life...the things that make you smile...go read it and pick one thing you can do for you and then go do it.

Saying you don't have the time for you isn't the truth. We all have the same amount of time in a day and it's up to us to schedule it accordingly and that means time for us and our needs. It means saying no sometimes too and it means putting ourselves first for a change and believing that we not only deserve it but that we're worth it.

Do you feel guilty when you spend time on yourself? Some people have been told that they're lazy for taking the time to recover when needed. Is that true for you too? Let me say here and now...you have nothing to feel guilty over when you do what your body needs you to do for you...to care for yourself is nothing to feel guilty about not one bit! You are NOT being lazy either! It's one of the most loving and healing things you can do for you...and YOU need this.

So please...let me ask you again...what will you do to take care of you and your needs?

take good care of you eh? you need you
