Redefining "normal"...

8/3/2014

How do you define the "normal" in your life? Do you compare the days of your yesterday, before the pain, to the days you have now? I'm sure you have at one point when wishing things were different. But you know what? Things aren't different and we may never be like we were...the word "normal" has changed for us. Pain is the "new norm" of our lives and it will be throughout our days.

Before the pain a "normal" day was probably pain free and you were able to do what you needed, when you needed and how you needed to do it. Now, however, a "normal" day includes pain and probably some limitations. Before the pain, if you're like most people, an "abnormal" day was a day where you felt pain, but also knew that it was temporary. Now, however, a "normal" day includes pain that is not temporary.

Now that pain is a part of your life, the word "normal" has new meaning. How will you define your "new normal" so that you can live your life for you and not your pain?
