- what are your strengths?
- what are your weaknesses?
- what are your needs?
- what are your wants?
- what are your dreams?
- what are your fears?
When setting goals keep the following in mind....goals need to be....
- Specific – the goal is specific to the objective you wish to achieve
- Measurable – your progress throughout the goal is measurable
- Action Oriented / achievable / acceptable / attainable – the goal states a specific action that you will do – the action is achievable – it is acceptable and won't cause you harm – attainable with your current needs or with the use of specific supports in place
- Relevant – the goal is relevant to your life and what you want to accomplish, relevant to your strengths, weaknesses, wants, needs and abilities
- Time Bounded – the goal has a specific time frame in which it will be completed – time frames can be re-stated if found to be unrealistic once you start working on the goal
