Have you noticed any of these signs in a loved one?
Do you recognize these signs within yourself?
Suicide warnings also include...
- a loved one giving away their prized life possessions, or items of importance, things they need or use daily
- comments like "when I'm gone", "it'll be over soon", "you'll be better off", "why bother"...are signs too and should not be ignored
- you may also notice that you or your loved one has stopped providing personal care to themselves seeming to have "given up"
If you recognize any of these symptoms in yourself please speak to someone you trust. There is help but you need to take the step to reach out for it. There are also confidential crisis lines you call for support as well. Your doctor and other health care professionals can help too. Reach out...you're not alone and your life depends on it.
If these symptoms remind you of a loved one..reach out to them. They most likely won't come to you so you will need to go to them. They're hurting and they need you. Sometimes just letting someone know you're there when and if needed, sharing a hug or a laugh or even just sitting quietly supportive, can do a world of wonder to a hurting soul.
Please take good care of you and each other
