NO! we don't deserve the pain we're in.
Although there may not be a treatment that will rid all of the pain...there are treatments available which will decrease it and it's up to us to explore all treatment options available and to do the research on what we choose for us moving forward.
Advocating for our needs is essential...being actively involved in our treatment plan working with our doctors...educating ourselves on our illness and treatment options. There are more options available to us than are often offered and we need to be aware of them to ask for them.
Our illness and pain may change some things in our lives and how we live it but it doesn't have to change everything. We are still in many ways the person we were before this happened and we are the ones in control how our pain will change us.
We may live with something that is "invisible" and some people may just not understand...but we still deserve to treated with respect and this includes our doctors and treatment team. We deserve a doctor who will listen and help us to explore our options.
Now the last line? that's the best one yet....I WILL NOT GIVE UP!! No. Giving up is not an option. Even with pain...even with a chronic illness...our lives are still beautiful and worth living.
