I shared my personal list of side-effects with you for a reason. I shared it because my list is what motivated me to look elsewhere for treatment. When I wrote the list of what I experienced due to my medications, it was a wake up call. Seeing how my life was being negatively impacted by the medications that were supposed to help me was scary. The fact that I almost didn't survive the effects, was the end for me and medications.
Seeing my list of side-effects also made me question why I was willing to continue to take the medication if this is what I had to live with as a result. I had to be honest with myself. I was willing to take whatever pill my doctor gave me because I wanted to be pain free. I thought a pill could take away my pain and I could have my life back. If one pill didn't work, I would get another, and another, and another.
I realize how dependent you may be on your medications, and I can understand how scary it is to think of what life will be like without them because they do provide some relief from the pain, however, I do encourage you to give some thought to your medications and why you are using them. Ask yourself what side-effects you are living with and are they really worth it? Only you can decide yes or no.
There are more options available than a prescription pad. Have you explored your options? If you're saying no, can I ask why not? Do you think you're worth the effort? I do!
Take the time to write your own list of side-effects you have experienced due to the medications you have tried to help your pain. Ask yourself if the side-effects are worth whatever relief you get from the medications. Only you can decide if they are or not, and only you can decide if you will continue to experience them or if you will explore your options for treatment instead.
Make the choice for your benefit....it's your life after all...
take good care of you ok?
