This is Life...
Break free of all the rules, they said you have to follow,
Take care of yourself first, there may be no tomorrow,
Listen to your heart, feel it skip a beat,
Make promises and keep them, be truthful when you speak.
Don’t let them tell you ‘it’s not right’, don’t let them say, ‘believe’,
Don’t listen to the lies they tell, the stories they all weave,
Give in to love sometimes, it doesn’t always last,
And even if it hurts, it will be part of your past.
Make a few mistakes, it’s how you learn to be,
The best version of yourself, the one you want to see.
Climb the highest mountain, and swim the deepest sea,
Be proud of who you are, say it loud, ‘I am ME!’

It’s not your job to fix them all, but you can believe in fate,
One day love may come along and change your point of view,
Someone may give you everything, and you’ll know what to do,
If it’s true love your heart will know, you’ll see it in their eyes,
They’ll look and see the real you, there will be no disguise.
But if it’s lust, you’ll know that too, maybe not right away,
But soon enough you’ll realise, they’re not here to stay,
Don’t worry though, don’t be afraid, you will get through that too,
Some people give you nothing, and you’ll know what to do,
Take the good and take the bad, learn from everything,
And no matter what they tell you, it’s your voice use it to sing!
The day will come when you are old, maybe you are alone,
Or maybe you’re sitting with your love, like a queen upon her throne.
Whatever path you choose, it won’t be an easy road,
But you are strong and you can carry, quite a heavy load,
Although the path is paved with love, there’s also lies and hate,
So try not to let the wrong ones in, be careful, shut the gate.
And if you remember only one thing, if one thing comes to mind,
Remember you will always be judged by those who are unkind,
Hear what they say and listen, although it’s not always true,
Sometimes it’s about their own self-worth, it’s not because of you,
And when the end is near and your story has been told,
The ones who always loved you, will be worth more than all the gold.
