It can never be the same as it was before cause the place that I'm from doesn't exist anymore. WOW! what a powerful sentence that is! do you feel it? When you read this what did you think about? Did you remember a point in your life where you couldn't turn back? a point where you had no choice but to go forward? What is that moment for you? For me...it involves my pain. Where I was when I was first injured is not where I am now...I can't go back. Where I was the first few years of my injury is not where I am now and I can't go back there either. Neither place exists anymore. The ME I am now is a whole new ME. Yesterday the Fb page hit another new milestone....3500 friends strong. I can't say thank you enough for making that happen. Your support and encouragement has meant the world to me and to know that this page and the Fb page too are helping others, is more to smile about. When I first started this I was doubtful to be honest. As a first time "blogger" I didn't know what to expect nor really what to do...but over the last year or so things have grown further than I ever could have imagined and I have too. I'm not here to tell you how to live your life, but I am here to challenge your thoughts and to support, encourage and empower you to begin a different journey of sorts with your pain. One that has you in control and not your pain....living your life for you. We may live with pain now but we still have a life to live. I hope by being here and sharing the entries you're beginning to take the steps for you. We can't change our pain but we can change how we live with it and how it impacts our daily lives, thoughts, and beliefs...we can make changes moving forward. Thank you for being here and for sharing in my journey...and thank you too for allowing me to be a part of yours. We really aren't as alone as we think we are sometimes and we are stronger than we believe. take good care of you okay? The minute you change your perceptions, is the moment you rewrite the chemistry of your body. ~~Dr. Bruce Lipton~~ This picture was shared to the Fb page from a friend and it was taken in Alaska How healthy would you say your thoughts are? Are they productive or destructive? Healing or hurting? How healthy are your thoughts when they go wondering? There is nothing in this world that can trouble you as much as your own thoughts. It's true...our thoughts have the power to either empower us or to destroy us. What we think impacts how we live our lives and how we interact with those around us. Our thoughts have power!
Have you ever walked out of your doctor's office thinking he or she just doesn't listen? Do you feel like you can't openly communicate with your doctor? What is your relationship like? Are you actively involved in planning and implementing your medical care? Do you fully understand what your health care plan is?
The relationship we have with our doctors is an important one but often many feel they just can't talk to their doctors. Whether it's because you feel they just don't believe or understand what you're going through, or they never seem to have enough time for you...how you relate to your doctor directly impacts your medical care. If your relationship with your doctor is struggling, please give thought to the following article and see if there are things you can do to help improve the communication between you. Today, instead of thinking about what YOU are not, try thinking about ALL that YOU ARE! ~~Heather Stillufsen~~ Picture taken on the pond. If you've been to the Facebook page you've probably seen a few pics of the water and all the places I'd like to walk...that's because I'm a water baby. Are you one too? When I'm at the water's edge...I feel a peacefulness that comes over me. A calming to the chaos that is me. When I need to re-focus myself, my thoughts immediately go to the beach...I can visualize the sand and the surf...I can hear the birds calling...and I can even feel the warmth of the sun on my body. It's a pure feel good thing for me. Today I am heading to the beach with some friends and I'm looking forward to going. I need a day like this to bring me back and to soothe me. I hope you've had a good long weekend and that you've made some time for you...for your needs...to make you feel good...something just for you. It doesn't have to be a trip to the beach or any grand outing...it can be your favourite book, snack, song, or movie...it can be anything really. The only thing I ask is that whatever you do...it helps you to live beyond your pain...that it soothes your aches emotionally, mentally and physically...it makes you feel good to be you. What does that for you in your life? Now please? GO DO IT! take good care of you eh? |
